ANY QUESTIONS?
Q. Can I play if I'm able-bodied?
Of course! The wheelchair is just another piece of sports equipment in our eyes - the club has our own supply of sporting chairs, so you just have to turn up!
Q. Is there an age limit?
Not at all! We have people aged from 16-60+ at the moment; it really is an accessible sport for anyone.
Q. Can I come along to try?
Sure! We strive to create an environment where everyone can join in and enjoy themselves. Get in touch, or come along if you want to have a go!
Q. Do I need my own chair?
We play in specially designed sports chairs, and our team is lucky to have a supply of these in all sizes, so you don't have to bring anything but a smile and some water. However, for saftey you must be able to transfer yourself between these two chairs (independently or bring someone to help!)
Q. Do I have to play competitive matches?
Nope, if you just want to come along and train, you are more than welcome (feel free to come along and support the team at matches though!)
Q. I've never played basketball before, is it easy to learn?
Basketball is a brilliant game and isn't hard to pick up! In training, we play games, but we also spend a lot of time practising passing and other skills, so you'll be confident about playing in no time.
Q. How much does it cost?
If you come along and like it, and want to make it a regular thing, that's great! Team members usually pay a monthly direct debit of £25 - however, if money is an issue, we don't want it to deter you - just get in touch via our email or phone and we can work something out!
